Triathlon Capms in Spain

3rd Canadian-German Triathlon Camp
on Mallorca (Spain)

April 11 to 25, 2009.
Hosted by BALEAR REISEN GmbH

With Kevin und Kate Masters from Aerobic Power Training Systems (Edmonton, Canada)

Join us for an early season training trip on our third annual Canadian-German Triathlon Camp on Mallorca, Spain. This Spanish island is an epic place to train, as the European professional cycling teams would agree: a stunning landscape, challenging switchbacks, smooth roads and a sunny spring climate offer the perfect conditions for your first outdoor bike rides of the season. Running along the Ocean, and swimming outdoors (either in the heated 25m pool or in the Ocean) will be just as exciting as the cycling. Getting in 5-6 rides per week of 70 to 160km, cycling is clearly the focus of the camp. Thus, the trip is aimed at both, triathletes and cyclists. We will have three different cycling groups to accommodate different levels of riding ability, all accompanied by bike guides and coaches. We are happy to offer you an unbeatable all-round package, that includes coached training sessions for the swim, the bike, and the run, your stay at the BlueBay Resort, including breakfast and dinner buffet, plus training tips and presentations. And, we make sure the social aspect won’t fall short, meeting most nights at the hotel bar to enjoy a drink with everybody.

Camp goals and content:

The camp’s focus is on the bike workouts, because you will hardly find a better place on earth to cycle than Mallorca. Offering a great mix of fast flats and challenging serpentines, combined with perfect road conditions, little traffic before May, a beautiful scenery and usually sunshine, it’s no wonder that this BALEAR Reisen GmbH island has become a true cycling Mecca and attracts European professional cycling teams.

Don’t worry though! There will be plenty of swimming, running and even the necessary core training and will be just as much fun to do outside in the sun. After a full day of actual training and a satisfying and relaxing buffet-style dinner at the hotel you have the opportunity to join the interesting evening presentations about relevant aspects of training (e.g. technique, training efficiency, racing). All week, the dedicated coaches will be available for further training-specific questions. Be prepared to get lots of tips during the workouts as well.

Enjoy the group; meet fellow athletes and exchange triathlon experiences or simply enjoy a beautiful sunny night at the hotel bar.
